Project Reveal: Coastal Penthouse Apartment

We recently had the pleasure of completing a full-service design project for a brand new, penthouse apartment in a coastal location just north of Brisbane. This new build incorporated a modern coastal aesthetic with panoramic views of the water situated just off the esplanade at Scarborough. The apartment was fit with oak timber floors, a bright white kitchen, soaring ceilings and black finishes to add depth and contrast. Eliza Grace Interiors came in at the final stages to fit the apartment out with beautiful furniture and decorating items to match perfectly with the finishes and fixtures selected.

As this was not your typical coastal home, we wanted to encompass a style that leant towards coastal, but in a modern and contemporary way. Through a variety of practical and classic furniture pieces we designed a living space that catered to modern family life, optimised seating and provided a layout that capitalised on the ocean views. Natural timbers, organic shapes and textural elements contrasted against black accents and pops of varying shades of green.

Adding depth to coastal style is essential when designing with a soft and natural colour palette. This was done through the use of black accents and bold pops of green and blue throughout.

Marble was another key element selected in table tops and accent pieces to add a natural element and pop against the varying shades of oak timber. Pieces were sourced from suppliers such as Globe West, Satara and Freedom and blended with the existing finishes and fixtures selected.

Overall, the space is light and bright, yet warm and welcoming. A coastal penthouse apartment that oozes sophistication in a contemporary and friendly way. Blending natural elements such as timber and marble with a colour palette of light beige, soft grey, olive green and charcoal black seamlessly integrates with the coastal surroundings.
